13 Reasons Why - Audio Remake (INCOMPLETE) (Above: Original scene) Myself and Ben Wilkinson were set a task that consisted of reproducing the audio for a scene from an episode of '13 Reasons Why.' The audio segment featured 20 seconds of speech and 40 seconds of music laid between the speech.  For the vocal recording, a voice recorder was used from Ben's laptop. Although we are aware of the drawbacks and implications of using a basic recorder (which could produce secondary feedback) the advantages are in much higher proportion - as Ben can edit the feedback out during the editing process and the basic laptop vocals recorder was more accessible to us; this saved us a significant amount of time taken to reproduce the audio track. As well as this, as the recording was saved directly to Ben's laptop, this means that there was no difficulty transfering the recording segments into the editing programe - and the recorder was relatively easy to use.  However, a...

Mise En Scene in 'Him&Her.' In a Media lesson, we were set to watch an episode from the TV series, 'Him&Her.' During the episode, we had to analyse an area of Mise En Scene. I was allocated with costume and makeup - which was evident that alot could be said about the matter. For example, Steve's character presents a lower class member of society as the conditions he lives in appear to be of low standard, and his costume is unkempt and presumably ungroomed (which infers that he is of a lower class status of society.) This contrasts to Janet (Steve's mum), for example, as her character appears to be well dressed and presentable in contrast to Steve - she is also shown to be wearing makeup which connotes that she takes pride in her appearance. This aspect of the costume and makeup element of Mise En Scne creates a visual contrast between characters; that the unconcious mind of the audience will analyse and reflect upon appropriately - even as far ...

Charlie Chapplin: The Gold Rush An edited still image from the Gold Rush. Storyboards for the 'Gold Rush' remake task.   Reflecting on the making of this video, I would have done a few things differently. Firstly my group had a lack of actors; so this meant we had to use Raygen (me) and Beth from our group as our main two actors. Secondly I feel the filming was very rushed and due to the lack of footage the final video was not the best it cold have been. I feel our main actor Raygen did a very good job performing like he did as we asked him last minute .      To do: Upload editing proof Upload final cut

Mise en Scene; Indiana Jones Costume The costume of Indiana Jones replicates an arachaeologist or adventurer. This aspect of his costume infers that his character has some mid to high experience of the setting. The colours of the costume portray some element of camoflage and appropriation to the setting - which would be typical of a standard archaeologist or adventurer. However, the secondary character, dressed in the polar opposite of what the main character is seen to be wearing. This character is wearing a leather jacket, presumably jeans and converse shoes. This gives off the impression that he is an average teenager and does not know alot about the topic that the main character is persuiting. Lighting The primary source of lighting in this scene is the large light, underneath the secondary character. The purpose of this was to create an element of front lighting. Also, the colour of this lighting is white, which indicates that the characters are exploring an unknown c...

Mise-En Scene making an original image How does the way toy have constructed your image show an audience the element of Mise-En-Scene that you have focussed on? The image shows the audience most of the Mise-En-Scene because is shows all of the elements clearly. The setting is very prominent as even though it's blurred in some areas, it is easy to tell the whereabouts of the character. The character has most of his face covered but the audience can tell what he is feeling due to the expression in his eyes. The colours in the scene are mostly dark however there are areas which are quite colourful. One problem with this image is that the character's costume isn't visible which could hide some important details about the character from the audience (e.g. whether the character is a student, office worker etc.) What can the audience read into the plot of the film based around this image? The audience may have a tough time working out what genre the movie is, however, f...

Evaluation Our group consisted of Raygen Saunders-Johnson (myself), Ben Wilkinson, Bethany Ethridge, Sam Carnie and Tom O'Neil. The members of this group worked very well as a team, getting all of the job roles allocated easily so that more time can be spent on filming, editing and evaluating. Raygen was the producer, Ben Wilkinson was the co-producer, Bethany was the director, Sam Carnie and Tom O'Neil were the editors. Admittedly, the group did not manage time efficiently and effectively - but that is something that can be improved over time as we practise and elaborate the skills further. The overall teamwork aspect of the project was very well handled and the productivity showed this. Despite this, the project outcome was not the best we could have performed. This is because the final cut was our first attempt at the editing process. Because of this, the group plans to watch many videos and tutorials on Youtube.com to assist the editing process next time. However, the gro...
